R.I.S.E. WORDS: Day 145: Abundance Never Wavers

Today my mediation led me to the subject of Abundance. How interesting it is that during this time you hear many people talking about lack or the absence of Abundance in one form or another--as financial means, liquidity or even as love or peace or intimacy. The the universal principle of Abundance (as being an absolute quality of God) never wavers; is never absent; and is unconditional. There is always Abundance. We as humans may waver, are certainly conditional and can be "absent"; but Abundance, as an absolute concept, can't.

I need only look around me to see that this is true. And as I reflect more and listen to what sounds like a sea of birds chirping in the Silver Oak that wraps around the corner windows of my living room, it dawned on me that every living thing around -- except the humans-is thriving and fully in touch with Abundance. The birds are thriving this summer. The squirrels are fat and plentiful. The trees in my yard and around my neighborhood are lusher, greener and growing faster than ever this summer. The garden soil I tilled yesterday is alive with earthworms, an indication that the earth is abundantly provided for. The lettuce, beets, spinach, carrot and tomatoes seeds I planted are springing forth in full glory. (Too bad, Whole Foods!)

And then came the revelation. Only the humans appear to be separated from Abundance. What people are experiencing today, isn't about a lack of Abundance; it's about a disconnection from Abundance, both in mind and in action. Instead of declaring Abundance, we are declaring lack, when all around us is the evidence. Creations far less creative and far less sophisticated than we are tapped fully into Abundance. This revelation is a powerful reminder of the difference between what "seems" and what "is". It also reminds me that my experiences will be what I declare them to be. So today, I am calling life as I see it and as I know it to be--infinitely Abundant I am reminded to know, think, speak, act, look for and expect Abundance today and everyday. I invite you to do so as well.

R.I.S.E. WORDS: Day 144: Weather Patience

This morning, APRIL 9th, I awoke with a smile (as I always do) and chill (something I don't expect to do on April 9 2009 or any year for the matter). I communed with the Source, God, giving thanks for a new, clean, freshly illumined day. I acknowledged that this day is a gift, brimming with the potential to bring forth my heart's desires and magnificence beyond my imagination. I pledged to be of service to God and others today. I declared that something good is going to happen to me this very day. And then I realized how cold the floor and the air were. Will it ever get warm in DC, I thought to myself. Yikes, the temperature is the 30's. In April!! Then instead of complaining, as I felt myself gearing up to do, I decided to find the lesson or the blessing of the situation. I decided the ending winter embodies a lesson for me; a lesson in patience.

R.I.S.E. WORDS: Day 143: Now Time!

"Take time to make time, while time doth last; for time is no time, when time has past".

This is one of my favorite sayings, a powerful truth as told to me by my mom a few year ago. (She has wuse saying for every situation, circumstance and occasion. It used to annoy me when I was little. Now I love it.) And this one is profound and profoundly important to understand and use if your goal, like mine, is to live life fully and to experience the best of life NOW, not some non-specific time in the future or in the after-life.

Translated, the rhyme says: commit yourself to carving out time now, to engage in the experiences that are priorities for you. Do it NOW, because once this moment in time has past, you cannot recapture it and you cannot be certain that the next time will come around for you. This says, life is now. There is no dress rehearsal. Live it fully.


Affirmation: I am grateful for this moment of time. It is the gift of life to me. I demonstrate my gratitude by treasuring each moment and living it to it's fullest potential.

R.I.S.E. WORDS: Day 142: No Coincidence

Today is experienced Synchronicity; I used to call it Coincidence now that I understand they everything happens in divine order and by universal construction. Every occasion, occurrence and curious moment---in a part of the universal design of life and brings with it a lesson or a blessing.

So what was this Synchronistic moment? This morning at 9am while making my protein, fruit, live food smoothie concoction, I sharp thought came to mind that must call Theo, my Cameroonian friend, that I haven't talked to since before Christmas. I made a mental note and proceeded with engage in a busy work day. I never called. At 530pm I got a call from Theo, telling me this call was the fulfillment of a commitment he made to himself at 9am this morning when is experience a sharp impulse to give me call.

As universal order would have it, Theo shared with me a challenging situation that he has been unable to shake. It turns out that I was able to offer the insight he need to resolve the issue at hand. And in turn, I shared with him a similarly challenging situation that I brought into my experience recently and he was able to provide in the right and perfect insight and in the right and perfect time that I needed it. There are no coincidences in the universe, for Divine order prevails. Coincidences are universal synchronicity that brings forth blessings that support the highest good for all concerned

Affirmation: The universe brings forth all I need, when I need it. I am grateful.

R.I.S.E. WORDS: Day 141: Henri Edmonds==Today We Celebrated

Today I am blogging about a wonderful wonderful person, who made her transition March 12 suddenly and gracefully and fearlessly at the age of 72 Her name is Henriette Edmonds. Henri, i know from Unity of Washington. She is an outstanding being---actress, theatrical genius, thesbian, professor, poet, writer, truth student and all around great soul on the earth. I didn't know Henri for a long time, maybe 5 years, but I learned valuable things from her, especially in the last days before her transition. For her I am immensely grateful. Here are some things I learned from Henri:

1. One is never too old to write a great book

2. Life is for living fully, now

3. It is truly possible to master fear--and when you do you can truly live in peace and joy, regardless of what comes your way in life.

4. I am supposed to go to theology school for a PHDand become a minister-the strong aura all around me makes this all clear, she says. So I might as well stop running from it.

Hmmmmmmmm. I think I'll just blog with a spiritual twist for now.

Blessings to Henri as her spirit soars into her next level of greatness!


Affirmation: In Spirit, there is no death; only divine transition---for spirit has no beginning and no end. Thank God for eternal life.

R.I.S.E. WORDS: Day 140: Blogging Again----POTENTIAL

Today I start again. I decided to stop side-stepping what was revealed to me as "mine to do" in November 2007. I logged 139 blog entries since that time, then I just stopped writing. I kept thinking and meditating and talking, but I stopped writing even though I like writing alot--when I can sit still long enough to do it.

A few seconds ago, as I sat here contemplating what I should blog on today, I glanced across the room to the TV where UNC is playing and beating badly Gonzaga on the road to the final four as march madness marches on. As I watch these two teams that have ascended to the college basketball's highest ranks from hundreds ofl teams across the nation, I got my theme for today's blog: Potential.

There is infinite potential within each creation on the planet; and that includes every human being that inhabits Planet Earth. This potential lies at the center of the being of each person, in every moment in time regardless of background, present circumstances or appearances. It is there whether we know it or not, believe it or not, or action on it or not. This potential is the inherent possibility for each person to experience the desires of the heart regardless of what they are--good health, love, prosperity, success, overcoming adversity , peace or something else. The key is to know, and believe, that the potential it there and to boldly "act" like you know.

Affirmation: Today I embrace the infinite potential that lies forever at the center of my being, awaiting my recognition and my action.

R.I.S.E. WORDS: Day 126: The Blessing of Service to a Friend

My friend arrived from abroad today. She came to have a small surgery that required general anesthesia; so she needed someone to pick her up and drop her off. She and I thought that that would be the only help she needed. I was more than happy to do both--and did. She or I didn't expect that she'd be in excruciating pain and would require lots of close attention and assistance---even help sitting up, lying down and eating. She told me how blessed and grateful she is that I am here to help her. But after 8 hours of helping in all sorts of ways, even spoon-feeding her dinner, I am realizing that I am the one who is blessed by the opportunity to provide service to her. It's weirdly paradoxical that I can consider care-giving on a nice warm Friday night in DC as a blessed opportunity. But as someone who is hardly ever in situations where I am called to give care, I have a decidedly positive feeling of fulfillment that is directly related to the service I am giving her. It really feels good. Perhaps that why it is often said that service to others is the gateway to true happiness. If you haven't done it lately, give service a try!

Key #10 To Reaching Cruising Altitude: Take Time In The Quiet

This last step seems irrational to some. After all most of us are programmed to believe that getting something, requires "doing something"; so we tend to feel that if we are doing something to "make things happen", they won't. In truth both are true. Action is required. The first 9 steps involve doing something, either at a mental level or the physical level. So surely there's a part play , energy to expend to bring about the Good Life. But, equally important, there is role for inactivity in the process of bringing about the good life. Rest, time-out, quiet time--call it what you desire-- is a critical part of the creative process. For even the hardest working farmer, there is a time, after a great deal of energy has been invested in preparing the land and sowing the seeds, that simply doing nothing is the very best contribution he or she can make towards the desire outcome. So it is with bringing forth your good life!! From quiet and quiet and patience comes renewed energy and fresh ideas that will further benefit the Good Life you desire.

Key #9 To Reaching Cruising Altitude: Hold In Mind and Affirm Daily The Thoughts of Your Good Life Daily

As the sayings go: "thoughts held in mind, produce after their own kind." Also,,,,,,,"as a man thinketh, so is he". And...."you get what you think about most". All these sayings, and the many similar others that we have heard over time, make the same important point--that manifesting desired outcomes has a lot to do with the mind, what we are thinking, and the frequency with which we think a certain thing. This works for things desired and undesired. Said another way, the mind is like an incubator that gives life energy to whatever thoughts, ideas or visions of the good life are put into it frequently and holding there. This is key #9 to reaching and maintaining Cruising Altitude --where you can experience the best of life. It just isn't enough to think sporadically about outcomes you desire to see in your life. You must "hold" thoughts in mind, which mean have a disciplined, consistent, daily mental vision of the very outcomes you desire to see. There is power and magic, in holding the vision or acting out desired outcomes in your mind daily. It sets clarity, expectation, and intention--all of which propel the creative energies and greatly increase the probability of manifestation.

Ascending from ground level to cruising altitude, like moving your desires from mind into reality, requires certain action on your part. Your progress will be benefited by an Action Plan, that details the actions you determine are required to move you from where you are to where you want to be. It doesn't have to be complex and scientific, but an action plan- even one as simple as a daily "to-do list" or a list of important daily routines- that supports your path is helpful and greatly increases your probability of reaching your cruising altitude where the good of life flows to and through you.

Key #6 To Reaching Cruising Altitude: Surround Yourself With People Who Have A Similar Desire For, and Commitment to, the Good Life

When asked about the key to his successful transition from regular guy to rap star to big-screen superstar, Will Smith revealed that it's all about the people with whom he surrounded himself. He said something like: show me your five closest friends and I 'll tell you about your future. His point is surely an important key to reaching and maintaining your good life altitude. You are greatly influenced by the energy, the intent, the ambitions and activities of the people you spend the most time with; and so are your beliefs, expectations and your experiences. This renewing of the mind is a two-fold process. On the one hand it requires that you take control of our mind, asserting that you control it, not the other way around. This is your opportunity to actively clear it of the incessant random chatter and negative images and mind movies that surely keep you from reaching cruising altitude where you can be, do and have the best of life.

Simultaneously with controlling and clearing the mind of negative, you want to begin to choose positive, affirming thoughts, filling the mind with desirous thoughts and images that have the effect of elevating your attitude, your expectation, your altitude and your life experiences. Key #4 To Reaching Cruising Altitude: Optimize Your Body Temple

Your journey to cruising altitude and the good of life that it holds for you depends to some degree on your body. Whether its physical activity or tough thought-work, the condition of your body certainly impacts your journey from where you are to where you want to be, at cruising altitude.

Therefore optimizing your body temple in important. One way you can body optimize is through proper diet consisting lots of clean water, whole foods including raw fruits and vegetables, good grains like wild rice, quinoa, buckwheat; and naturally raised protein sources such as grass-fed beef, free range chicken and wild-caught seafood. Key #3 To Reaching Cruising Altitude:

Besides knowing your are created to reach Cruising Altitude and living consciously in the present moment, there is yet a 3rd practice you can adopt to support your achieving and maintaining good altitude: Have one or multiple destinations in mind. In this context destination is a metaphor for "vision, goal, dream, or deep desire". You'll never find an airplane cruising to nowhere---- meaning cruising along a altitude without a destination in mind. The "good", your good, is activated in part by your vision, desire and goals and the passion they invoke in you. The mere act or fact of having deep desire and deep passion in a major propellant to the cruising altitude.

Boldly embrace and accept unconditionally that you were designed and engineered by the Creator of the Universe to reach your unique "cruising altitude" where the very best of life is available to you, for you, and through you.

Knowing with unshakable tenacity that this is the unchanging truth of your nature, is the very first Key to elevating towards cruising altitude and your good life which is found there as healing, overcoming, prosperity, abundance, love, joy, peace and the ability to find good in the most challenging of life circumstances.

Make this truth a frequent, daily thought. Write it, memorize it, post it, meditate on it, sing it or otherwise interact with it daily. From this high level of interaction will develop an ingrained belief that you are truly created to experience life at the cruising altitude!!
