So you want to live the good life? Well you are in the right place to get the insights, energy, encouragement and guidance to do just that.
But before I give today's R.I.S.E. Words, I want to set the context. So, I am in Birmingham Alabama for the holidays, taking a break from the up-north pace of DC and the greater Northeast. At 7-something A.M. my retire-age-plus, awesome-and-living-life-fully Mom gets me up to go to her Yoga class at the health club--yes YOGA. The class was way cool; 15-20 fit, women ranging in age from 20 to 78 doing their thing for an hour led by this way-cool Yoga diva name Sue. There was one other guy besides me; and, unlike me, he knew what he was doing. I was in awe, really. You had to be there to fully appreciate how inspiring it was to watch these women in pretzel-twisting action, especially the silver foxes who were demonstrating with excellence the "good life" principle that I want to blog on today: THE GOOD LIFE LIES BEYOND THE BOUNDS
R.I.S.E. WORDS: Day 31: THE GOOD LIFE LIES BEYOND THE BOUNDS
We are creatures of habit and routine. However, in order to live "the good life" (your personal best life) we must be open and receptive to exploring beyond the bounds of the habits, routines and limits that we or society have declared for us according our age, stature, status, background, history, or other personal characteristics and circumstances. There's nothing bland, routine and ordinary about "the Good Life". It's exciting, energizing, fulfilling and fresh. And only you can keep you from it. So regularly take the initiate to incorporate, beyond-the-bounds exploration into your thinking and doing and being; because your "good life" definitely lies beyond the bounds. The Silver Foxes are doing boundless Yoga. What boundless thing(s) are YOU doing?
