R.I.S.E. WORDS: Day 15: THE COMPANY THAT YOU KEEP

Even the blogger gets blogged down. It's Day 15 of the RISE WORDS blog movement and the blogger is feeling kind of tired. I am ending a long and demanding day. Lots of writing and conferencing and real estate business stuff (you know, or maybe you don't, that I am a commercial real estate developer) and ran 5 miles, i went to the gym, helped lift christmas trees, then went to dinner and now I am home. Home and waiting to lay hold of the R.I.S.E. Words for today. They are hiding from me today. Slipping and sliding in the recesses of my mind. Ahhh yes here they are:

R.I.S.E. WORDS: Day 15:THE COMPANY THAT YOU KEEP

On the path to the "good life" that you are inherently equipped to and intended to have, "the company you keep" is a major determinant of whether you will actually achieve it. Friends and close associates you keep are a good reflection of what you think of yourself and they provide a good indication of the quality of life and life experiences that are likely in store for you. You choose wisely the company that you keep.

Now R.I.S.E. and REALIZE (your) INHERENT SELF-EXCELLENCE.

Writing this R.I.S.E. Words entry reminds me of a profound statement of truth that actor Will Smith made when he was asked on TV One about his outstanding rise to hollywood stardom and wealth. He said something like this: Show me your 5 closest friends and I will tell you about yourself and your future............

It also reminds me of the another saying recently saw in a myspace profile. It said: Travel with thine equals or thine betters; and if there are none, travel alone. Awesome!!! By the way: I hope and assume that the author means equals or betters in awareness, consciousness and intentions and not in some financial or other way that would imply snobbism or eliteism.

So R.I.S.E. by choosing your friends wisely!
